Our programs are designed for the public, church safety teams, organizations, and professionals seeking realistic, experience-based training. No prior experience is required for most courses.

No. Our training is structured for individuals of all experience levels, from beginners to those with professional backgrounds.   Our Bronze-level program is specifically designed for individuals with no prior firearms experience. We cover everything from firearm safety fundamentals and basic operation through foundational marksmanship and responsible ownership principles. Many of our students have never touched a firearm before their first GDI class, and we take pride in creating a welcoming, judgment-free learning environment.

Not all courses require firearms. We offer both non-firearms and firearms-based training depending on the program and client needs

Three things distinguish GDI. First, our instructors come exclusively from military, law enforcement, and emergency response backgrounds — we do not employ hobbyist instructors. Second, our curriculum follows a structured, tiered progression (Bronze through Platinum) modeled on professional military training doctrine, rather than offering disconnected one-off classes. Third, we maintain deliberately small class sizes to ensure every student receives personal attention and individualized feedback.

Yes. We provide customized training programs for churches, workplaces or office, and organizations focused on safety, preparedness, and response.

Yes. We emphasize responsible training that includes legal and moral considerations, use of force guidelines, and decision-making within the law. We'll encourage you to read state statutes and consult an attorney.

Course length varies depending on the program. We offer short workshops, full-day courses, and multi-day training depending on the level of instruction.

Training can be conducted at designated training locations or onsite for organizations and groups, depending on the program.

Yes. We offer both private instruction and group training sessions tailored to specific needs and environments.

 First Aid, CPR and AED training is not included in every class, but we will discuss it's importance and do offer it as a separate course. 

We believe responsibility is a critical part of preparedness. Training in First Aid, CPR, AED use, and emergency response ensures students are prepared not only to respond to threats, but also to provide aid when needed.

GDI serves anyone committed to responsible, lawful firearm ownership and self-defence. Our students include first-time firearm owners, concealed carry permit holders, law enforcement officers, security professionals, and experienced shooters seeking structured advancement. Our Bronze–Platinum progression system ensures that every student — regardless of experience level — enters at the appropriate level and develops genuine competence at their own pace.

Safety is the foundational value of Genesis Defence Institute. We maintain a zero-incident safety record. Every class begins with a comprehensive safety briefing. Our instructor-to-student ratios are among the lowest in the industry. We enforce strict range protocols, and our instructors are trained to identify and correct unsafe behaviors immediately. Safety is not a policy at GDI — it is a culture.

Genesis Defence Institute is a professional training organization, not a political advocacy group. Our mission is education, safety, and competence. We focus on empowering individuals to exercise their rights responsibly and lawfully. We do not endorse political candidates, engage in legislative lobbying, or take partisan positions. We believe that well-trained, responsible citizens contribute positively to public safety regardless of the political environment.

 All Genesis Defence Institute instructors have professional backgrounds in military service, law enforcement, or emergency response. They hold relevant state and national instructional certifications. Each instructor undergoes GDI's internal vetting and training process, which includes background verification, skills assessment, instructional methodology evaluation, and ongoing professional development requirements 

 The Genesis Defence Institute progression system is a tiered curriculum that guides students from foundational safety and marksmanship (Bronze) through increasingly advanced levels of defensive performance (Silver, Gold, Platinum). Each tier has defined learning objectives, performance standards, and assessment criteria. Students must demonstrate competency at each level before advancing to the next. This ensures genuine skill development rather than superficial exposure to concepts. 

  While marksmanship is a component of our training, Genesis Defence Institute's curriculum is built around a much broader concept of defensive performance. This includes situational awareness, threat assessment, de-escalation techniques, legal use-of-force considerations, decision-making under stress, and the psychological preparedness required for genuine self-defence. We believe that the most important "weapon" is a well-trained mind.
